Victim Support – closed intranet

Managing complex information needs around New Zealand

This website can’t be linked because it’s a closed intranet.

Victim Support is a New Zealand not-for-profit organisation whose primary objectives are to provide information, support and assistance to individual victims, witnesses, their families and friends. In addition, they raise public awareness and recognition of the effects of crime and they promote victim's rights.

Victim Support provides 24-hour emotional support, personal advocacy and information to all people affected by crime and trauma throughout New Zealand. By striving to meet these objectives they aim to provide a comprehensive, flexible service to reduce the effects of crime and trauma.

A feature of the organisation is the large number of people in the regions who provide remote administration and service to recipients.

The intranet is designed to service the complex information needs of geographically spread groups, comprising hundreds of users. Planning for the intranet focused on the need for information and stakeholders to be cut-and-diced into a database matrix. This would enable stakeholders to input and receive the correct and relevant information, as it happens and in a timely fashion.

FRESCO donated time to the build of this intranet and we are very pleased to be a supporter of the organisation.
